High Award returns to the winner's enclosure following his Epsom win



First black type winner for Holy Roman Emperor

FIRST-season sire Holy Roman Emperor secured a first black-type winner at Epsom with the victory of High Award in the Listed Investec Woodcote Stakes.

The Tommy Stack-trained colt is out of Tarascon, who he sentout to win the 1998 Irish 1,000 Guineas. Bred by Stack's wife Liz and Jane Rowli he was bought for his current owners Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith and Mrs John Magnier at the 2008 Tattersalls December foal sales for 425,000gns by Demi O'Byrne.

Speaking after the race, Stack's son Fozzy said: "He's a very laid-back horse. Since he arrived at Epsom he has done nothing but sleep, eat and drink. He was asleep an hour before the race. He's a very balanced horse - not overly big."
