Her Smile puts Include back in spotlight

AIRDRIE Stud stallion Include gained early popularity when his first crop yielded Grade 1-winning fillies Cash Included and Panty Raid. Now, the Grade 1-winning son of Broad Brush has another top-flight filly to represent him in Her Smile, winner of Monday's Grade 1 Prioress Stakes at Belmont Park.

The three-year-old filly is surprisingly her sire's first Graded stakes winner since Panty Raid took the Grade 1 Spinster Stakes back in October 2007. She is also another example of her sire excelling with fillies; three of his four Graded stakes winners are fillies as are 13  of his 18 stakes winners overall.

Results from Include's first crop saw his fee soar for $12,500 to $35,000 for the 2008 season. However, that has since slumped back down to $7,500.

Bred by William M. Backer, Her Smile is out of Hepburn, a Capote daughter of Listed winner Favored Lady from the family of smart American sprinters Crossing Point and Mr Keeper.

Her Smile is bred on the same Seattle Slew cross as minor stakes winner Including Gold while Seattle Slew also appears as the sire of second dam of Panty Raid.
