Goffs Land Rover Sale to include two-year-olds

TWO-YEAR-OLDS will be catalogued for sale at next year's Goffs Land Rover Sale for the first time.

The auction, which is pencilled in to take place on June 9 and 10 in 2010, is for National Hunt horses, with graduates becoming eligible to run in Europe's richest bumper race, the Goffs Land Rover Bumper at Punchestown.

Goffs chief executive Henry Beeby commented: "Although eligibility for the 2011 bumper will not apply to these two-year-olds, the decision to catalogue them, in addition to three and four-year-olds, is Goffs' response to the changing National Hunt market demands.

"The Land Rover Sale is a firm favourite with Irish and UK-based trainers due to the achievements of its graduates and the type of horses we offer - quick to hand and ready to run.

"We will continue to encourage vendors to back three and four-year-olds as another reaction to assist purchasers' desire to be that step nearer to the racecourse".

Seven of the top ten lots from June's sale have been entered for next year's Goffs Land Rover Bumper.
