NICKY Henderson has excelled with the progeny of late Glenview Stud stallion Anshan in recent years as the trainer of high-class representatives Dave's Dream and Quantitativeasing, who was second in last month's Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham.

And on Friday, the trainer enjoyed high-profile success with another by the sire when sending out Shakalakaboomboom to win the Grade 3 chase at Cheltenham. A €10,000 Tattersalls Ireland November foal purchase by Mr and Mrs A Cros, Shakalakaboomboom joined Henderson's yard when bought for £20,000 by Highflyer Bloodstock at the 2008 DBS May Sale.

Bred in Ireland by Godfrey Moylan, the gelding isthe sole winner from three runners out of the unplaced Supreme Leader mare Tia Maria. The mare is a half-sister to bumper and points winner Bugle Major, also a son of Anshan.

Further back it is the family of Henderson's popular chaserTravado, the winner of 12 of 24 starts including the 1993 Arkle and two editions of the Peterborough Chase.

The top-class staying hurdler Asian Maze tops the list of jumpers produced by the 1990 2,000 Guineas third Anshan. The son of Persian Bold died at Glenview Stud in Ireland in 2005.
