BALLYMACOLL Stud in County Meath welcomed its first new foal of 2010 on Sunday when four-time Group 1 heroine Islington gave birth to a bay/brown filly by Dansili.

Islington also delivered a bay filly by Dansili, sire of Group 1 winners Rail Link, Passage Of Time and Zambezi Sun, in January 2009.

Her oldest produce is London Bridge, a five-year-old daughter of Rainbow Quest who was sold at last year's Keeneland November breeding stock sale for $600,000.

She is also dam of Isla Canela, a four-year-old filly by Gone West who sold at Keeneland as a foal for $2.4 million and was led out of the ring unsold at last month's Arqana breeding stock sale.

She slipped a Storm Cat colt in 2007 and was barren to Kingmambo in 2008. She is set to visit Dansili for a third time this spring.

Islington hails from one of Ballymacoll Stud's most successful families, as a daughter of Hellenic, who carried the operation's famous pale blue silks and yellow and white cap to victory in the Yorkshire Oaks, and a sister to Group 1 winners Greek Dance and Mountain High.

Islington upheld family honour by winning the Yorkshire Oaks twice and the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf twice.
