Bach sold to stand
at Dunraven Stud

BACH will stand at David Brace's Dunraven Stud near Bridgend in 2011 following the completion of a deal to purchase the son of Caerleon from Coolmore.

Bach's first crop are now six and include Frascati Park, a triple bumper winner and multiple Grade 2-placed over hurdles who won a competitive novice hurdle at Ascot on Friday.

He is also the sire of Hebridean, winner of the Group 3 Airlie Stud Gallinule Stakes on the Flat over 1m2f and the Grade 2 Racingpost.com Adonis Juvenile Novices' Hurdle at Kempton.

Bach will stand alongside Dr Massini, who completed his first year at Dunraven in 2010 and was also bought from Coolmore. Needle Gun will transfer to Fiona Wilson's Lodge Farm near Peterborough.

Mark Gichero, advisor to David Brace, said: "We've got big hopes for Bach. We've had our eye on him for some time. On the whole he's had relatively small crops by Coolmore's standards, but has sired a black-type winner on the Flat and over jumps. There's such a big pool of top-class stallions in Ireland, a lot of them fall out of fashion very quickly through no fault of their own."
