BACK IN FOCUS (6 g Bob Back - Dun Belle by Over The River)

Breeder:  Mrs A. Connolly in Ireland

THE recently deceased Bob Back was again to the fore on Saturday when Back In Focus, who is out of the high-class chaser Dun Belle, foiled hot favourite Court In Motion to take this Grade 2.

His victory followed the game runner-up effort of another of the stallion's runners, Tornado Bob, in Ascot's opening novice hurdle, which was won by Sonofvic.

This is the second consecutive weekend that a major race has fallen to a son of Bob Back following the victory of Saludos in the Grade 2 Flyingbolt Novice Chase at Navan last Sunday.

Unsold for €17,000 at the 2008 Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale, Back In Focus is a brother to hurdles winner Bobsthewizard and out of Dun Belle, who ran second to Dorans Pride in the 1998 Hennessy CognacGold Cup.
