Breeder: Mrs Cora Cronin in Ireland

GARRYRICHARD Stud's Craigsteel was represented by his first Graded winner over jumps on Saturday when Cross Kennon defeated Bensalem (Turtle Island) in the Rendlesham Hurdle.

The son of Suave Dancer retired to stud in 2004 as the winner of four races topped by the Princess Of Wales's Stakes. He was also second in the Grade 1 Turf Classic Invitational and fourth in the Group 1 Racing Post Trophy.

Cross Kennon is the best of 12 winners under rules from four crops aged four and above by Craigsteel.

Cross Kennon was purchased by his owner, P. Clarke, for £30,000 at the 2008 DBS National Hunt Breeze-up at Kempton. He is the only winner out of the unplaced Gaelic Mission.

Craigsteel later pulled off an across-the-card double when He's A Delight captured the concluding bumper at Gowran Park.
