Harasiya maintains Pivotal's hot run

HARASIYA enhanced her glowing reputation when running out an impressive winner of the Group 3 Silver Flash Stakes at Leopardstown today.

Trained by John Oxx for her owner-breeder the Aga Khan, the filly travelled smoothly on the outside under Johnny Murtagh before unleashing a fine turn of foot in the home straight to win by two and half lengths.

Harasiya's win marks a memorable month for Cheveley Stud's flagbearer Pivotal, who sired his 20th Group 1 winner at the beginning of July when Izzi Top landed the Pretty Polly Stakes. The sire's progeny have been performing particularly well during the recent wet spell - last week he sired the Listed winner Poet and he appeared as the damsire of the July Cup winner Mayson.

Harasiya is the third foal out of the Group 3-winning Xaar mare Harariya, who has already produced the 1m4f Listed scorer Hazarafa and the Group-placed performer Haziyna.

Harasiya descends from an Aga Khan family brimming with black-types winners, including the Group 2-winning juvenile Hittite Glory and the Irish Oaks third Hazarista. Harasiya isn't short of speed and she could easily develop into a leading 1,000 Guineas filly next season.
