French NationalStud sets Spanish Moon fee
NEW French National Stud recruit Spanish Moon has had his first stud fee set at €2,000.
The seven-year-old son ofEl Prado has been retired to stand at the stud's base in Le Lion d'Angers alongside Honolulu, Khalkevi and Racinger.
Spanish Moon's standout season came at the age of five in 2009, when he made hay in Europe and further afield after being banned from racing in Britain for six months due to unruliness in the stalls.
That year he won the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud and Prix Foy and was a narrowly beaten second in both the Dubai Sheema Classic and Hong Kong Vase.
The horse is a brother to Ribblesdale Stakes winner Spanish Sun from the family of Anglo-Irish Oaks runner-up Bourbon Girl and Group winners Apogee and Daring Miss.
