Soave off the mark at
La Teste de Buch

GERMAN-BRED freshman sire Soave was represented by his first winner on Monday when his son Chopsoave prevailed by a nose in a 1m juvenile maiden at La Teste de Buch in France.

Owned and bred by Alain Chopard, Chopsoave is out of the Key Of Luck mare Moon Serenade. He was getting off the mark at the fourth time of asking.

Soave, a son of Dashing Blade, was bred by Gestüt Etzean out of the Be My Guest mare She's His Guest, making him a half-brother to six-time Listed winner Sacho.

Soave won four Group 3 contests between 6f and 7f at three to seven, and compiled some eyecatching form when second to subsequent Group 1 winners Chineur and Toylsome in Listed contests, and third to Linngari in the Group 2 Goldene Peitsche.

Soave stands at Chopard's Haras des Faunes near Bordeaux, and this year his fee was €2,500.
