First-season sire Vespone gets his first winner

Porzapone became the first winner for Haras du Petit Tellier's first-season sire Vespone when successful in a conditions race at Lyon La Soie.

Vespone, a son of Llandaff who ran once as two-year-old, won the Group 1 Grand Prix de Paris and the Prix Jean Prat in the colours of Ecurie Mister Ess A S.  He was subsequently acquired by Godolphin for whom he was twice Group 1-placed.

Bred by Gestüt Sohrenhof, he is a half-brother to Hong Kong Vase and Melbourne Cup runner-up Purple Moon andto Prix Penelope winner La Sylphide.

His further family includes the Group 1 winners Volga, Vallee Enchantee and Maids Causeway.
