Halo heads a notable day for Sadlers' Wells line

CELESTIAL HALO's return to winning ways in the totesport.com National Spirit Hurdle was the spearhead of a dominant day over jumps for the Sadler's Wells line.

It followed the victory of Kayf Tara's son Westmeath in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden Hurdle and victory for the Old Vic gelding Stonemaster in the Ballsbridge Hurdle at Leopardstown.

Westmeath, an €82,000 Tattersalls Ireland graduate, and Stonemaster, who cost €44,000 at Goffs, both race in the colours of Michael O'Leary's Gigginstown Stud and both were bought by Mags O'Toole.

Celestial Halo cost 40,000gns at the 2005 Tattersalls October Sales, and has a pedigree much better known for its performers on the flat, particularly those bred by Wafic Said.

The seven-year-old is a half-brotherto My Branch, third in the Irish 1,000 Guineas and dam of Group 1 Haydock Sprint winner Tante Rose and Musidora third Bay Tree.
