TATTERSALLS Ireland have catalogued 514 yearlings for its September Yearling Sale, on September 25 -26. The figure is down only five per cent from 2011 catalogue when 402 yearlings - 80 per cent of those offered - were sold for a total of €4,502,250 and average of €11,200.

The sale has enjoyed yet another good year on the track with graduates such last week's Thoroughbred Stakes winner Trumpet Major, a €20,000 purchase by Peter Doyle in 2010, and Hong Kong Group 1 winner Xtension, a €15,000 purchase by Clive Cox in 2008, flying the flag. So far this year, 54 individual two-year-olds from the 2011 sale have won a total of 64 races.

Among the stand-out lots catalogued in this year's edition is a Bahri half-brother to Richard Hannon's exciting two-year-old Toronado, a Mastercraftsman half-sister to Grade 2 heroine Missit, a Dark Angel half-brother to Irish 1,000 Guineas runner-up Dimenticata, a Footstepsinthesand half-sister to Grade 2 winner Boule d'Or and an Ad Valorem half-sister to Grade 1 American Oaks heroine Cambina.

Simon Kerins, sales and marketing director of Tattersalls Ireland, said: "This year's September Yearling Sale catalogue features 514 selected lots, offering our purchasers quality horses both in pedigree and conformation.

"The sale has consistently produced good quality racehorses at outstanding value and this year we can point to graduates such as Trumpet Major, a €20,000 graduate of the 2010 sale and an impressive winner of the Group 3 Thoroughbred Stakes at Goodwood last week, and Xtension, a multiple Group 1 winner in Hong Kong sold at the September Sale for only €15,000.

"The number of individual 2 year old winners from the 2011 sale continues to climb, with 54 horses winning 64 races between them to date, exceeded by only one other yearling sale in Europe! We feel this is a solid catalogue and look forward to welcoming all existing and new customer to Tattersalls Ireland this coming September."

All horses catalogued in the September Yearling Sale are eligible for the 2013 €125,000 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes (T&C apply) run at Fairyhouse Racecourse on the eve of the sale. This year's race will be run on Monday 24th September, the evening before the yearling sale.

Tattersalls Ireland, in association with Irish Thoroughbred Marketing, can assist clients with all travel requirements. ITM continue offer a flight contribution scheme to all overseas purchasers at the sale.
