Half-sister to Best Name assumes top spot at 55k

RHYTHM Queen, a 700,000gns yearling, looks set to again assume top billing, albeit at a lower level, after selling to Dwayne Woods on behalf of Andrew Tinkler for 55,000gns at today's Tattersalls February Sale in Newmarket.

The four-year-old Danehill Dancer filly, a half-sister to Prix du Jockey-Club runner-up Best Name, is set to join Tinkler's broodmareband at Brook Stud in Newmarket.

Although trade is still sticky, the sale of two lots for 50,000gns or more has boosted the average to 7,118gns. However, the clearance rate is still depressingly low at 43 per cent.
