Haafhd to stand at Beechwood Grange Stud

HAAFHD has been transferred from his owner-breeder Hamdan Al Maktoum's Nunnery Stud in Norfolk to Beechwood Grange Stud in Yorkshire, where he will command a £2,500 fee next year.

The 2,000 Guineas and Champion Stakes winner remains the property of Shadwell. Beechwood Grange owners Steve and Josie Knowles have previously stood Shadwell stallions Elmaamul and Muhtarram.

Haafhd's oldest crop is five and his best runners to date are Superlative Stakes winner Silver Grecian and Listed scorer Show Rainbow.

This year he has been represented by 56 winners(including 13 juvenile winners) of 85 races who have amassed £872,000 in prize-money.

Shadwell Stud director Richard Lancaster said: "We have had a very good working relationship with Steve and Josie and their team at Beechwood Grange and we are delighted that they have agreed to take Haafhd.

"We believe he will be popular with many of their local breeders. We hope that we have pitched his price at a level which will be commercial in what are tough financial times for all breeders."

Haafhd is by Alhaarth and out of Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine Al Bahathri.
