Group 1 winner Lush Lashes sold to Japan
JIM BOLGER has sold his triple Group 1-winning filly Lush Lashes to continue her breeding career for Katsumi Yoshida at his Northern Farm in Japan.
The seven-year-old daughter of Galileo, currently in foal to Oasis Dream, will be mated with brilliant young Japanese sire Deep Impact next year.
Bolger retains a connection to Lush Lashes as he owns her first foal, a Lawman filly born this year.
Bought by Bolger at Goffs as a yearling for €80,000, it didn't take Lush Lashes long to repay the trainer's faith in her when she accomplished the unusual feat of winning over £660,000 on her first start, by winning the valuable Goffs Million sales race.
Lush Lashes retired with earnings of over £1.2 million after winning the Musidora Stakes, Coronation Stakes, Yorkshire Oaks and Matron Stakes at three. Offered as a broodmare prospect at Tattersalls at four, Lush Lashes was not sold for 1.8m gns.
Hubie de Burgh brokered the deal, with Emmanuel de Seroux and Riki Takahashi acting on behalf of Yoshida. De Burgh said: "Lush Lashes is an absolute queen to look at and as a triple Group 1-winning daughter of Galileo her appeal is obvious.
"She is another big mare for the impressive Northern Farm broodmare band."
