DUAL Group 1 winner Ask is the latest young stallion represented by his first foal; a bay colt born at Grange Stud, Fermoy, on Thursday morning.

The colt is out of La Protagonista, a Night Shift half-sister to the Group 3 Give Thanks Stakes winner and St. Leger Stakes runner-up Unsung Heroine.

Grange Stud manager Albert Sherwood said: "He's a good, correct colt and we'll be delighted to show him to anybody that would like to see him."

Ask was a top-class and tough performer for Sir Michael Stoute, winning seven of 19 starts and over £800,000 in prize-money. He defeated Youmzain and Look Here when successful in the 2009 Coronation Cup and signed off that season with a clear cut victory over Schiaparelli in the Prix Royal-Oak.

The son of Sadler's Wells covered 164 mares in his first season at stud. He stands under the Coolmore National Hunt banner at the Beeches Stud for a private fee.
