Group 1-placed Ovambo Queen sold to Shadai
GERMAN Group 2-winning mare Ovambo Queen has been sold by Galopp Management Graesser in cooperation with Colombo Bloodstock Agency, Florida/USA to join Teruya Yoshida's broodmare band at Shadai Farm in Japan.
Ovambo Queen won seven of her 18 starts for trainer Dr Andreas Bolte between the ages of two and five.
The highlight of her career came with a nose defeat of Deutsches Derby hero Waldpark to win the Group 2 Hansa-Preis at Hamburg in July.
Ovambo Queen also finished second, beaten just half a length by Danedream, in the Group 1 Grosser Preis von Baden in September.
Danedream and Ovambo Queen may be reunited in the Shadai Farm broodmare band, as Arc heroine Danedream was also part-purchased by Yoshida last year.
Ovambo Queen is by the Big Shuffle stallion Kalatos and out of the winning Lagunas mare Oxalaguna, a sister to Group 1 scorer Oxalagu.
