Pandoramacaps notable double for Flemensfirth

PANDORAMA put a disappointing display in the Hennessy Gold Cup behind him to land this contest by six lengths under PaulCarberry from Money Trix (by Old Vic).

Victory for the Noel Meade-trained gelding capped a good day for Flemensfirth, whose Knockfierna landed the Doran's Price Novice Hurdle, the showcase event on today's card at Limerick. Coolmore'sson of Alleged also supplied the first two home in the Betfair Chase last month when Cheltenham Gold Cup hero Imperial Commander fended off former Arkle Chase winner Tidal Bay.

Flemensfirth has been a top ten jumps sire in Britain andIreland since the 2007-08 season, and currently sits in sixth on this season's list behind King's Theatre. He will stand next season under the Coolmore banner at the Beeches Stud for €10,000.

Pandorama is the only winner fromfive foals out of Gretchen's Castle, an unraced daughter of Derby runner-up Carlingford Castle.  She is a half-sister to three minor jumps winners including Moonshee, the dam of smart hurdler Ballyburke while further back, this is the family of Long Distance Hurdle heroine Mrs Muck.

Pandorama has passed through a sales ring twice, firstly selling as a foal for €5,000 to a cash buyer at the 2003 Goffs December Sale. He was unsold for €4,000 11 months later atthe Tattersalls Ireland November National Hunt Sale.
