Great Hunter takes up stud duties in Venezuela

GREAT HUNTER, winner of the Grade 1 Lane's End Futurity in 2006, has been purchased privately to stand at Haras Los
Samanes in Venezuela and will begin stud duties this year.

A son of Aptitude out of the Roy mare Zenith, Great Hunter beat Circular Quay and Street Sense to win the Futurity, before finishing third to Street Sense in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile.

His best run at three came when winning the Grade 2 Robert B. Lewis Stakes at Santa Anita, and at four he finished fifth, beaten underten lengths, behind Curlin in the Dubai World Cup.

Great Hunter was bred in Pennsylvania by Ivy Dell Stud and was trained by Doug O'Neill for owner J. Paul Reddam.
