Great Endeavour wins the Byrne Group Plate at Cheltenham 18.03.2010

Great Endeavour clears the last en route to victory

Endeavour hands great Festival success to Palm

GREAT Endeavour handed his sire, Great Palm, a first Festival success after holding off the challenges of Sunnyhillboy and From Dawn To Dusk to take the Byrne Group Plate.

Bred by Kevin Roche in Ireland during Great Palm's time at Arctic Tack Stud, Great Endeavour is the only named foal out of Strong Irish, an unraced daughter of Corrouge. Strong Irish has five and four-year-olds brothers and a yearling sister to Great Endeavour.

Great Palm, an imposing half-brother to US Horse of the Year Black Tie Affair, won the Premio Presidente Della Repubblica and ran secondin the Dewhurst Stakes for Paul Cole. The son of Manila initially stood at Haras d'Etreham in France before shifting to Arctic Tack Stud in 2002. He transferred to Dunstainton Stud in County Durham for the 2009 season.
