Brother to Cape Cross moves to South Africa

GREAT BRITAIN, a brother to Cape Cross by Green Desert, will stand this season at the The Alchemy Stud in the Western Cape of South Africa.

Cape Cross is the sire of four Group 1 winners and 11 Grade winners including champion Sea The Stars and Ouija Board.

Highly regarded and experienced owner/trainer Grant Maroun has acquired the Listed-winning stallion. Maroun is no stranger to global success, having purchased the former Dubai horse of the year Victory Moon as a yearling.

Victory Moon recently passed away but not before leaving five stakes winners including the dual Grade 1 winner Princess Victoria.

"It hasn't been easy to find a suitable replacement for Victory Moon, who is currently the leading two-year-old stallion but when Great Britain became available with such a stunning pedigree he became the perfect choice," Maroun said.

Abderry Equine Services facilitated the sale of Great Britain to South Africa. Great Britain commenced stud duties in New Zealand in 2008 and his oldest progeny are now yearlings.
