Grade 3-winning son of El Prado to Kentucky

KENTUCKY has gained a new son of El Prado to the stallion ranks in Fort Prado, a Grade 3 winner who will stand 2012 at Buck Pond Farm for $5,000.

Fort Prado previously stood at Hill 'n' Dale Farm in Illinois for $3,000. His first crop of weanlings were well received at the recent Keeneland November Sale, with three selling for an average of $51,667.

A tough campaigner, Fort Prado won 18 of 59 starts, including 13 times at stakes level. He enjoyed his finest moments when successful in the Grade 3 Fair Grounds Breeders' Cup Handicap and Grade 3 John B. Connally Breeders' Cup Turf Handicap.

Fort Prado shares his sire, National Stakes winner El Prado, with leading Kentucky stallions Medaglia d'Oro and Kitten's Joy.
