Grade 3 winner Taqarub to stand in Jamaica

THE Jamaican stallion ranks has gained a new addition in the Grade 3 winner Taqarub, who has been retired to stand at Bombay Stud Farm.

The five-year-old son of Aldebaran was acquired by Christopher Wellington through Chad Schumer for $14,000 out of the Shadwell Farm consignment at the Keeneland November Sale. He retires as the winner of five races topped by the 2010 renewal of the Grade 3 Maryland Sprint Handicap at Pimlico.

A $300,000 yearling purchase by Shadwell Farm, Taqarub is out of the winning Honor Grades mare Honor Bestowed, a half-sister to champion turf runner Soaring Softly.
