Grade 2 winner Adios Charlie to stud in Florida

ADIOS Charlie, winner of last season's Grade 2 Jerome Stakes, has been retired to stand the immediate 2012 breeding season at Ocala Stud Farm in Florida. A $3,500 fee, payable on stands and nurses terms, has been set for the four-year-old son of Indian Charlie.

"Adios Charlie had real brilliance and could carry his speed a mile and beyond," said O'Farrell. "He's a grand-looking individual by the right sire, and Florida breeders in particular should be familiar with his successful female family. We've hada lot of luck here with brilliant horses that could carry their speed, like Montbrook, Notebook and others."

Adios Charlie broke his maiden by 6 ¾ lengths at Gulfstream Park on his three-year-old debut before taking the Jerome Stakes a month later. He also ran second in the Grade 2 Peter Pan and Dwyer Stakes

The $400,000 OBS March two-year-old purchase retires as the winner of three of seven starts with earnings of $251,090.
