Grade 1 winner Haynesfield to Airdrie

HAYNESFIELD, Winner of the 2010 Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup stakes Haynesfield will start his stud career at Elizabeth Jones' Airdrie Stud in Kentucky for a fee of $10,000.

The five year old, who is by Speightstown and out of Nothing Special, was a stakes winner at two, three, four and five and a winner of ten out of his 19 lifetime starts.  His career high came when he beat Blame in the 2010 Jockey Club Gold Cup by four lengths. The loss was the only defeat incurred by Blame during his championship season.

Haynesfield also took the 2010 Grade 2 Suburban Handicap and was beaten by a head in that season's Grade 1 Cigar Mile Handicap. Haynesfield retired with lifetime earnings of $1,319,481.

Haynesfield is the son of 2004 champion sprinter and top sire Speightstown, His immediate family includes Canadian Broodmares of the Year Shy Spirit and Good Mood, the latter the dam of Grade 1 winners and sires With Approval and Touch Gold.  He was bred by Barry Weisbord and Margaret Santulli.
