Harbour Watch gives half-brother sale boost

HARBOUR WATCH had his odds slashed for next year's 2,000 Guineas after a fluent victory in Friday's Group 2 Richmond Stakes at Glorious Goodwood - and in the process gave a huge boost to his yearling half-brother who has a date in the sale ring this autumn.

Riversfield Stud will offer Harbour Watch's half-brother byCape Cross at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October yearling sale, which takes place from October 5 to 7 this year.

Harbour Watch was bought for current connections by Peter and Ross Doyle Bloodstock for 58,000gns at the Tattersalls December yearling sale. The Richard Hannon-trained colt had earlier been offered at the DBS Premier yearling sale and sold for €33,000 at the Goffs November foal sale.

He is out of the Woodman mare Gorband, a half-sister to dual Group 2 winner Kabool and his third dam is Grade 1 Matron Stakes heroine Fall Aspen, founder of an empire of Group/Grade 1 winners including Dubai Millennium, Elnadim, Fort Wood, Hamas, Medaaly, Mehthaaf and Occupandiste.

Harbour Watch is the fourth juvenile stakes winner this year for his red-hot Rathbarry Stud-based sire Acclamation, after Angels Will Fall (Princess Margaret Stakes), Lilbourne Lad (Railway Stakes) and Talwar (Winkfield Stakes).
