RACING at Deauville saw an indirect stakes double for the Wertheimer family.

As well as Goldikova, they also bred and raced Green Tune, who stands at the Haras d’Etreham and is the sire of Group 3 Prix de Cabourg winner Pontenouvo.

This is a family developed by Paul and Erika Hilger who also owned and bred the dam Porlezza, winner of the Group 1 Prix Maurice de Gheest.

Porlezza has as her fourth dam the legendary Sly Pola, whose descendants include Derby winner Authorized, this year’s 2,000 Guineas winner Makfi and German champion Quijano.

Goldikova is by the late Haras du Quesnay stallion Anabaa and her family has received a black-type boost this year with the emergence of Goldwaki, a son of Dalakhani who won the Group 3 Prix du Lys.

Also bred by Wetheimer et Frere, he is out of Goldikova's half-sister Gold Round, by Caerleon.
