GOLDEN SILVER (g Mansonnien - Gold Or Silver by Glint Of Gold) Breeder: Noel Pelat

A STORMING late run saw the French-bred Golden Silver collar Big Zebnear the line to take the Tied Cottage Chase, his third win from five starts this season.

Golden Silver is by former French champion jumps sire Mansonnien, whose other well known representatives in Britain and Ireland include Mansony,Taranis and J'y Vole. The top-rated French older horse over middle-distances in 1989 by virtue of his third in the Prix Ganay, Mansonnien was retired from stud duties in 2006 following a long and successful stud career.

The son of TipMoss is represented by several sons at stud including Grade 1 winner Bonbon Rose and Grade 2 winner Grand Seigneur.

Bred by Noel Pelat, who stood Mansonnien at Haras du Croix Sonnet, Golden Silver is out of the triple-winning Gold Or Silver. He is a brother to Italian Group 1-winning jumper Or Ou Argent as well a Listed winner on the Flat in Diamond Boy.

Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle (Grade 2) 2m, 5yo+

GAGEWELL FLYER (g Deploy - Drumcay Polly by Le Bavard)

Breeder: Mrs Jacinta McGeough

Golden Silver marked the first legof a big race treble for Willie Mullins, who was later successful with Some Target in the 3m4f handicap chase and Gagewell Flyer in the Moscow Flyer Novices Hurdle.

A €55,000 purchase by Jeremy Brummitt at the 2007 Goffs LandRover Sale, Gagewell Flyer is by Deploy, who died at Scarvagh House Stud in 2008.

Irish Derby second Deploy - a Shirley Heights half-brother to Warning and Commander In Chief - was a useful sire on the Flat, siring such performers as Oaks d'Italia winner Zomaradah and Italian Group 1 winner Mons.

Given that Zomaradah is the dam of outstanding young sire Dubawi, Deploy will remain a prominent name on the Flat for some time to come. But he is also compiling a good record as a jumps sire, with Grade 1 Navan Novice Hurdle winner Shinrock Paddy and the Grade 2-winning chaser Caim Hill among those to represent him.

Gagewell Flyer is out of Drumcay Polly, an unraced half-sister to Listed-placed chaser Smith's Band.
