Hobson joins DBS
team as French agent

DBS has appointed Richard Hobson to source French quality horses in training and stores for the company's flagship jumps sales.

A French-speaking bloodstock agent, Hobson served his apprenticeship with French trainer Guy Paris before transferring to Britain to work with Graham McCourt.

Over the past two years, Hobson has operated as a blodstock agent in France and has already been involved in the purchases of high-class horses such as the Grade 1 winners Golden Silver and Hurricane Fly as well as the popular Grade 2- winning mare Pomme Tiepy.

Hobson has also bought horses for many of leading jumps owners and trainers throughout Britain and Ireland including Thurloe Thoroughbreds, Graham Wylie, Willie Mullins, Edward O'Grady and Gigginstown House Stud.

"DBS are delighted to have another experienced and enthusiastic face on the team," said Henry Beeby, managing director of DBS.

"The sales market is becoming more and more competitive and we felt that we needed more agents regularly attending sales and race meetings so that we can continue to provide the very best standard of horse to be sold. Richard's experience and huge network of clients will prove invaluable to DBS".
