Riverside Theatre wins the Wayward Lad novices chase at Kempton 27.12.2009

A foal full-brother to Riverside Theatre is entered in the DBS January Sale

DBS January catalogue now online

THE DBS January Sales catalogue, which is held on January 26-27, is now available online. The sale includes mainly jumping stock: foals, two-year-olds, mares, but the horses in training comprises both Flat and jump horses.

Last year, the catalogue of 191 horses featured less than half the number of lots than in 2008, but this year's total of 451 entries surpasses the 2008 figure. In 2009, 132 (70 per cent) horses were sold for a total of £717,200, average of £5,392 and median of £2,500.

There are some exciting foal on offer, including the full-siblings to Arkle fancy Riverside Theatre and Amaretto Rose, whose first foal by Grape Tree Road also features in the sale. Half-siblings to Dave's Dream, Battlecry, Rimsky, Hell's Bay and Our Ben have also been catalogued.

A Presenting filly foal out of a sister to Best Mate is an interesting entry, and of the broodmares catalogued, half-sisters to Jair Du Cochet and Granit Jack take the eye.

The sale is sponsored by British Bloodstock Marketing and will be preceded by the BBM Kenneth Oliver Memorial Foal Champions and a parade of 17 stallions.
