Goffs releases February sale catalogue

NIGHT VISIT, the dam of last year's Irish Derby winner Trading Leather, is one of 460 lots catalogued to sell at next month's Goffs February Sale, which begins its two-day run on February 12.

The ten-year-old daughter of Sinndar is owned by Jim Bolger, who also trains Trading Leather.

A four-year-old son of Teofilo, Trading Leather carried the colours of Bolger's wife Jackie last year but will now race in the famous Godolphin blue after Sheikh Mohammed's operation bought a majority share in the colt late last year.

Winner of the Group 3 Autumn Stakes at two, Trading Leather flourished at three. After finishing third behind Magician in the Irish 2,000 Guineas, he coasted to an easy win in the Listed TRM Silver Stakes before landing the Irish Derby under Bolger's son-in-law Kevin Manning.

Following his Irish Derby triumph, Trading Leather was placed in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, Juddmonte International and Irish Champion Stakes.

Night Visit, who is foal to Intense Focus, will be offered by Bolger's Redmondstown Stud.

The opening day of this year's sale comprises 219 Flat and National Hunt weanlings, with older horses, unraced two-year-olds, fillies and out of training broodmares coming under the hammer on day two.

Goffs chief executive Henry Beeby said: "Following our huge success in November, Night Visit offers another quite unique opportunity at Goffs.

"Trading Leather is some performer and, at just ten years old, his dam will be a wonderful addition to any broodmare band. She is backed up by another diverse catalogue starting with a strong day of weanlings that should really appeal to pinhookers."
