World Cup hero Gloria set for stud in Sweden

DUBAI World Cup winner Gloria De Campeao is set to begin his stallion career in Sweden. The Brazilian-bred son of Impression - an Argentinian-bred stallion from the Mr Prospector line - raced for Swedish owner Stefan Friborg.

He will stand at Alebäcks Stuteri before shuttling to Brazil where he started his racing career.

The seven-year-old was retired from racing in the summer following a tendon injury while being trained for the Cox Plate in Australia. On leaving Brazil he was trained in France by Pascal Bary and campaigned mostly in France and Dubai, also racing in Singapore and once in the US.

Other notable racecourse performances from Gloria De Campeao include a Singapore Airlines International win and second place in the Dubai World Cup of 2009.
