O'Leary to offer €100k for bumper winner

CONNECTIONS of the successful horse in the Irish Racing Post Champion Point-to-Point Bumper at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday could be faced with an immediate €100,000 offer from Michael O'Leary.

In a unique initiative that mirrors the TV programme Deal Or No Deal, the offer will be screened live on television on the day of the Ladbrokes Irish Grand National, providing the winner is a four or five-year-old.

O'Leary, whose Gigginstown House Stud colours have been carried by the likes of War Of Attrition and Weapon's Amnesty, has pledged to put up a further €25,000 bonus if the winner lands a Graded novice hurdle next season and the same amount again if the horse wins a Graded chase.

The entries for the €50,000 event closed on Wednesday March 23. However, the four-year-old and five-year-old contenders to which the O'Leary offer exclusively applies have until April 19 to meet the Champion Bumper's qualifying critera of finishing first, second, third or fourth in a point-to-point.
