Toylsome transfers as Monsun's book reduced

TOYLSOME, the shock winner of the Prix de la Foret in 2007, will switch from Gestüt Erftmühle to nearby Gestüt Schlenderhan in Bergheim, Germany, next year.

The move has been made necessary by Schlenderhan’s flagship sire Monsun having his book reduced next year.

Schlenderhan general manager Gebhard Apelt told German newsletter Turf-Times that, “due to his constitution”, Monsun will not cover as many mares next year.

Monsun has established himself as Germany’s best stallion of recent times with a string of Group 1 winners including Schiaparelli, Shirocco, Stacelita and world champion Manduro.

International handicappers rated Toylsome Germany’s best sprinter of all time after defeating the likes of Dutch Art, Marchand D’Or and Red Evie to win the Foret at odds of 100-1.

The son of Cadeaux Genereux’s first crop are yearlings.
