Soldier Hollow's first foal born in Germany

NORTH German stud Gestüt Brümmerhof welcomed the first foal of multiple Group 1 winner Soldier Hollow on Wednesday morning.

The foal is a filly out of the Bertolini mare Buena Vista, a daughter of the German Listed winner Book Of Love who is owned by Peter Schiergen.

Julia Baum, who owns Brümmerhof with her husband Gregor, said: "She is a beautiful filly, with lots of vitality and great conformation. We are very happywith her."

Mating plans for Buena Vista this season are not firm yet, but Gestüt Fährhof's Königstiger has been elected as a likely candidate.

Schiergen was the trainer of Soldier Hollow, whose four Group 1 victories were achieved by winning both the Grosser Dallmayr-Preis and the Premio Roma twice. The son of In The Wings also finished third to The Tin Man in the Arlington Million, in a racing career which stretched over six seasons.

He is set to embark on his second season at stud in Gestüt Röttgen near Cologne, at a fee of €6,500.
