It's Gino switched to Union-Gestüt

IT'S GINO, who ran the race of his life to finish a dead-heat third to Zarkava at odds of 150-1 in the 2008 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, will undergo a switch in studs for 2011.

The German-bred son of Perugino began his stallion career at Gestüt Rietberg this year, but with that stud set toclose at the end of 2010, he will relocate to Union-Gestüt near Cologne.

His 2011 fee will remain at €3,000, October 1 terms.

It's Gino will be joined in the move to Union-Gestüt by Rietberg's boarding mares and their offspring.

In a restructure of former Union-Gestüt lessee Dr Christoph Berglar's breeding operation, his broodmare band is expected to be transferred to Gestüt Schlenderhan and Haras de Bonneval.

The management of Union-Gestüt will be taken over by Hartmut Rolofs, the long-time manager of Rietberg, from Ronald Rauscher, who is moving to Canada.
