Musselburgh: easy win for Mr Thriller brother

THE TRACEY SHUFFLE, a brother to high-class chaser Mr Thriller and half-brother to smart hurdler and Cheltenham Festival winner Gaspara, was an authoritative winner of Musselburgh's bumper on his second racecourse appearance.

Like his siblings, The Tracey Shuffle is trained by David Pipe, and he was bought by agent Tom Malone at Brightwells' Cheltenham Premier NH Breeze-Up sale for £40,000.

He is by Kapgarde, a son of Garde Royale out of the Cadoudal mare Kaprika. His dam, Gaspaisie, is by Beyssac.

She won three of 15 starts in France, where she produced five foals - all winners - before she was bought in foal by her current owner, Cotley Hill Stud near Warminster where The Tracey Shuffle was foaled.

Cotley Hill Stud owner Gilly Metherell said: "We've got three mares here, Gaspaisie, her daughter by Septieme Ciel, and a half-sister to Pride Of Dulcote.

"I'mvery happy that The Tracey Shuffle has begun to show the sort of promise that you would expect from that family. This is the first winner we've bred here - my first foals were born in 2004."
