POULE D'Essai des Poulains hero Aussie Rules was represented by his first winner on Wednesday when Chinese Wall scored on her debut in the Prix Epinard at Maisons-Laffitte.

The Didier Guillemin-trained filly scored by a head from Broox in the colours of her breeder, the Marquesa de Moratella. She is the first foal out of the Ashkalani mare Ganar El Cielo, a winning half-sister to the high-class French jumper Some One.

Chinese Wall is one 94 foals from the first crop of Aussie Rules, who is a grandson of the brilliant mare Alruccaba and therefore related to champions such as Alborada and Quarter Moon.

As well as the Poule d'Essai des Poulains, Aussie Rules was also successful in the Grade 1 Shadwell Turf Mile and Group 3 Somerville Tattersall Stakes. The son of Danehill stands at Coolmore for €6,000.
