GAME ON DUDE (5 g Awesome Again - Worldly Pleasure by Devil His Due)
Breeder: Adena Springs in USA
LAST year's Breeders' Cup Classic runner-up Game On Dude proved he will be a major force in the American older horse division this season when rolling to a 5 1/4-length victory on his return to action in the San Antonio Stakes on Sunday.
The Bob Baffert-trained gelding is one of 11 Grade 1 winners by Adena Springs' stallion Awesome Again.
Awesome Again, who carried Frank Stronach's colours to victory inthe 1998 Breeders' Cup Classic, has been a flagbearer of the Adena Springs' operation in Kentucky since his first-crop hit the track in 2002. That first batch of 74 foals contained four Graded stakes winners including the brilliant Ghostzapper, who emulated his sire by taking the Breeders' Cup Classic before retiring to stand alongside him at Adena Springs.
Awesome Again has since been represented by the likes of Wilko, who won the 2004 Breeders' Cup Juvenile for Jeremy Noseda, US champion Ginger Punch and the Grade 1-winning siblings Daaher and Spun Sugar.
The 18-year-old son of Deputy Minister stands at Adena Springs in Kentucky for $50,000.
Game On Dude is the fifth Grade 1 winner by the stallion bred by Stronach following Ghostzapper, Ginger Punch, Spun Sugar and Sugar Shake. He is the second foal and winner out of Worldly Pleasure, an eight-time scorer whose finest moment came when landing the Politely Stakes as a three-year-old.
Worldly Pleasure was sold in foal to Awesome Again's half-brother Macho Uno for $15,000 to the Korean-based buyer K.O.I.D. Co. Ltd at the 2009 Keeneland November Sale.
Game On Dude was unsold for $210,000 at the 2008 Keeneland September Sale.
