Balmont: the former top-class juvenile has sired his first winner

First winners for Indesatchel and Balmont

INDESATCHEL and Balmont are both off the mark as sires, after Galtymore Lad and Danube Dancer scored at Beverley and Warwick respectively.

Bred by Bearstone Stud, Galtymore Lad is the first foal of Right Answer, who won a 5f maiden and was Listed-placed at two. Right Answer is out of a half-sister to the top-class sprinter Mind Games who stands at Bearstone.

The colt was sold as a foal for 17,000gns and again for £28,000 as a yearling. Indesatchel is a son of Danehill Dancer and stands for £3,000, also at Bearstone Stud.

At Warwick, Danube Dancer drew clear of what looked to be a reasonable field for the course with Marlinka, Elite Racing Club's close relative of Soviet Song, getting the better of that rival by a head.

Danube Dancer was bought at Goffs' Kempton Breeze-Up by Stan Moore for 20,000, and collects a Racing Post Breeze-Up Bonus of £5,000 for the win.

She is a half-sister to several winners, including the fair 1m to 2m winner Bank On Benny, and is the first representative of his sire to race, this being his second start.

Balmont, who did all of his winning over 6f as a juvenile, including the Middle Park Stakes, stands at Tara Stud for €4,000.
