Pivotal half-brother to Fraulein heads to Japan

JAPANESE buyers didn't take long to make their presence felt at Tattersalls on Wednesday with Koji Maeda paying 125,000gns for a Pivotal half-brother to E P Taylor Stakes heroine Fraulein (23).

The colt had been purchased for 80,000gns as a foal but had been withdrawn from both the Arqana August and Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Sale as a yearling. He was consigned by Willie Browne's Mocklershill Stables this time around.

Browne was also responsible for a Galileo colt (22) who was sold to Citywest for 120,000gns. However, he represented a loss having cost 160,000gns as a yearling.
