Jacqueline: champion Indian racemare will be covered by Galileo


Dancer colt for brilliant Indian filly Jacqueline

OUTSTANDING Indian runner Jacqueline has foaled a colt by the recently deceased leading Indian sire Glory Of Dancer at Coolmore in Ireland.

The daughter of King Charlemagne will now be covered by Galileo.

Jacqueline and Indian Triple Crown winner Aurora Aurealis were were sent to Ireland late last year in a project which marked the first exportation of mares out of India for covering for over 50 years.

Owners Vijay Shirke, Khushroo Dhunjibhoy and Berjis Desai are behind the ambitious plan with the assistance of Michael O'Hagan of Irish Thoroughbred Marketing.

Jacqueline captured the imagination of Indian racegoers by sweeping eight races including the Indian 1,000 Guineas, 2,000 Guineas, Oaks and Derby. The champion was retired in March 2010 following a head second to Becket in the Group 1 Indian Turf Invitation.

Aurora Aurealis has also foaled a colt by Glory Of Dancer. The daughter of Indictment will be covered by Rip Van Winkle.
