Red Rocks to
stand in Italy

DUAL Grade 1 winner Red Rocks has been retired from racing and will stand at Allevamento Il Grifone near Turin in Italy next season.

A fee will decided in the near future for the six-year-old son of Galileo, who was a late withdrawal from the Fasig-Tipton November Sale in Kentucky.

Red Rocks was trained for the majority of his career by Brian Meehan, for whom he was triumphant in the 2006 Breeders' Cup Turf and last year's Man O'War Stakes, in which he memorably defeated Curlin.

Although he became notable for his international exploits,Red Rocks also won the Gordon Richard Stakes at Sandown and ran third in the 2006 St Leger.

From the first crop of Galileo, Red Rocks is out of Listed winner Pharmacist, herself a daughter of the flying filly Pharaoh's Delight.
