Hansen: the Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner is by Gainesway sire Tapit

Gainesway increase Tapit stud fee to $125,000

GAINESWAY Farm in Kentucky has pushed up the stud fee for its flagship sireTapit into six figures for the first time.

Tapit, sire of this month's Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner Hansen, will command a fee of $125,000 in 2012, up from$80,000 this year.

The son of Pulpit is the only existing sire at Gainesway to have his fee increased, with those for Afleet Alex, Afleet Express, Birdstone and Corinthian being reduced.

Hat Trick, whose first crop includes outstanding French juvenile colt Dabirsim, will stand his first season at Gainesway at a fee of $15,000.

The only son of Sunday Silence at stud in Kentucky, Hat Trick stood at Walmac Farm for $6,000 last year but Gainesway recently purchased a major share in him.
