Kane Hekili: the son of Fuji Kiseki won two renewals of the Japan Cup Dirt

Kane Hekili retired to Yushun Stallion Station

LEADING Japanese dirt performer Kane Hekili has been retired to stud after injuring tendons in both forelegs.

The eight-year-old son of Fuji Kiseki will take up stud duties at the Yushun Stallion Station on Hokkaido.

Kane Hekili was trained by Katsuhiko Sumii to win seven Japanese Grade 1 races including the Japan Dirt Derby and two renewals of the Japan Cup Dirt.

He also finished fourth to Electrocutionist in the 2006 Dubai World Cup.

Kane Hekili is out of the Deputy Minister mare Life Out There, a half-sister to Grade 3 winner and successful sire Silver Deputy.
