RED CADEAUX (6 g Cadeaux Genereux - Artisia by Peintre Celebre)

Bred by Foursome Thoroughbreds in Britain

RED Cadeaux's sire, the late Cadeaux Genereux, enjoyed one of his finest moments at York when successful in the 1989 William Hill Sprint Championship and went on to produce a number of top 5f - 1m performers during his long innings at Whitsbury Manor Stud.

However, Red Cadeaux is the latest in a handful of representatives by the sire to stay remarkably well; others include Listed winner Hugs Dancer, who won up to 2m2f, and Largesse, who was Group 2-placed over 1m7f.

A half-brother to 1m3f winner Artistic Light, Red Cadeaux is out of a mare who was placed over a mile and is a half-sister to Group 3-winning sprinter Almaty. She descends from champion Al Bahathri, the dam of 2,000 Guineas winner Haafhd.

Red Cadeaux was a 55,000gns Tattersalls October yearling purchase by Charlie Gordon-Watson.

Ceiling Kitty is the second winner out of as many foals out of the placed Baldovina following last season's triple-winning juvenile Van Go Go (by Dutch Art). Baldovina is a half-sister to the Grade 3-winning Japanese sprinter One Carat and out of French Group 3 winner Baldwina.

MOMENTARY (f Nayef -Fleeting Memory by Danehill)

Bred by the Queen in Britain

THE Queen's homebred Momentary dented several big reputations when narrowly denying Shirocco Star to break her maiden in this Oaks trial.

She becomes the 11th stakes winner by Shadwell stallion Nayef, who coincidentally is out of the blue hen Height Of Fashion, a daughter of Bustino who was bred and raced by the Queen before her sale to Sheikh Hamdan. Height Of Fashion went on to produce eight stakes performers for Shadwell, among them Nashwan, Unfuwain and Nayef as well as the dam of 1,000 Guineas heroine Ghanaati.

Nayef stands at Nunnery Stud for £12,500.

Bred on the same Nayef - Danzig cross as Group winners Spacious, Tabassum and Confront, Momentary is the second foal and winner out of Fleeting Memory.
