Freshman sire progeny in first Irish juvenile race

A QUARTET of first-season sires could be represented in Ireland’s first juvenile race of the year on Sunday.

The Tally Ho Stud European Breeders Fund Maiden over 5f at The Curragh has attracted 13 entries, including four by freshmen sires.

Jim Bolger has entered Teolane, a Teofilo filly out of the Erins Isle mare Masnada, and Snowflake Dancer, a Dylan Thomas colt out of a Sadler’s Wells half-sister to Prix de l’Abbaye winner Kistena who was an €11,000 Goffs Orby yearling buy.

Michael Mulvany has entered €3,000 Tattersalls Ireland September yearling buy Tough As Nails, a Dark Angel half-brother to four winners, and completing the progeny of freshmen sires is Pinkisthecolour, a Kevin Prendergast-trained Red Clubs filly from the family of Petrushka who wasa €38,000 Goffs Orby buy.

Holy Roman Emperor, whose first-crop son High Award won this race last year, has three horses entered in the race this time around.

One of the pedigree picks in the race is Gold Lace, an Invincible Spirit half-sister to Emerald Commander.
