FRENCH OPERA (8 g Bering - On Fair Stage by Sadler's Wells)

Breeder:  N P Bloodstock Ltd in GB

FRENCH Opera was a fitting winner of the Celebration Chase, one of the highlights of a card which showcases the best of Flat and jumping racing.

The gelding was bred by N P Bloodstock, the breeding name for Svan Hanson, who campaigned the brilliant Flat fillies Pride and Fair Salinia. Indeed, French Opera is bred to excel on the Flat, being by Prix du Jockey-Club hero and former Haras du Quesnay resident Bering out of a Listed-winning daughter of 1978 Epsom and Irish Oaks heroine Fair Salinia.

French Opera is one of five winners from eight runners out of On Fair Stage, whose best foal on the Flat is French Listed scorer Gale Force (by Sinndar). She is a half-sister to six winners including French Group 3-winning miler Perfect Vintage and Listed winner Perfect Circle.

French Opera was sold as a yearling by N P Bloodstock to Amanda Skiffington for 52,000gns at Book 1 of the 2004 Tattersalls October Sale.
